The seasonal calendars have been developed with the assistance and expertise of the Capricorn Coast’s own producers: the ones who have generations of farming experience and an understanding of the diverse landscape and climates that make up the area. Many thanks must go to local farmer Ken Mason who was pivotal in the development of these calendars. Ken was generous with his time and expertise in seasonal produce and sustainable farming methods. It is hoped that these calendars will be used by restaurants and cafés to help plan seasonal menus, improve food literacy amongst locals and tourists and to plan farm gate visits. The calendars will also be used to highlight the ample amount of fresh produce grown in Capricorn Coast soils and hope to foster further diversification and support agritourism expansion in the region.
