The seasonal calendars are bred from the minds of Capricorn Coasts own producers. The ones who have generations of farming experience and an understanding of the diverse landscape and climates that make up the Capricorn Coast. Many thanks must go to local farmer Ken Mason who was pivotal in the development of these calendars. Ken was generous with his time and expertise in seasonal produce and sustainable farming methods. It is the hopes that these calendars will be used by restaurants and cafés to help plan seasonal menus, improve food literacy amongst locals and tourists and to plan farm gate visits. The calendars will also be used to highlight the ample amount of fresh produce grown in Capricorn Coast soils and hopes to foster diversification and support agritourism expansion in the region.
